Shipping, customs and payment for your cabinet handles

Delivery, Customs, Payment, and Support

How Long Will It Take to Receive My Handles?

Each handle is made to order in our Paris atelier. Allow an average of 5 to 10 business days for production, plus the carrier's delivery time, which varies by address. You'll receive an email with the tracking number as soon as the shipping label is issued, generally between the 5th and 10th business day after your order.

Where Do You Ship to and Which Carriers Do We Use?

We ship worldwide from Paris, with no geographic restrictions. In mainland France and the European Union, you can choose home delivery with Colissimo or pickup point delivery with Mondial Relay. To the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, and Europe outside the EU, shipments go out via Colissimo International; to the Americas, Asia, Oceania, and Africa, via Chronopost or Colissimo International depending on the destination. French overseas departments and territories are covered by Colissimo Outre Mer.

How Are Shipping Costs Calculated?

The rate depends on two factors: the combined weight of the handles in your order and the destination country. It's calculated automatically at checkout, once you've entered your address. Countries close to France benefit from more favorable EU rates; distant destinations follow the carriers' international rate tables. For France and the EU, the amount shown is tax included, French VAT included.

How Are My Handles Packaged?

Each handle is wrapped in tissue paper, then nestled in a rigid box sized to fit. Multiple item orders ship in a reinforced box cushioned with recycled cellulose fiber padding. The whole package withstands the usual bumps of international shipping. We favor recycled cardboard and ink free paper, and avoid bubble wrap and non recyclable synthetic foams.

Can I Modify, Cancel, or Combine My Order?

As long as production hasn't started, generally within 24 to 48 hours after the order, cancellation and address changes are free: write to us quickly via contact Holdon Paris. Once the pieces are in production, your order can no longer be canceled since it's made specifically for you, and an address change then depends on how far the shipment has progressed. If you place several orders a few days apart and production isn't finished yet, we can combine the shipment and charge only one delivery fee.

What Happens if I'm Not Home for Delivery?

This depends on the carrier used. Colissimo and Chronopost leave a delivery notice and hold the package at the nearest post office or pickup point for 14 days, free to collect with valid ID. Mondial Relay delivers directly to a pickup point. Internationally, carriers generally make two delivery attempts before holding the package. Provide a mobile number when ordering to receive notifications; in France and the EU, choosing a pickup point at checkout avoids any hassle.

Are There Customs Duties for Orders Outside the European Union?

Yes, that's possible. When your handles leave the European Union, the destination country may charge import duties and local VAT. These fees are the buyer's responsibility, paid directly to the carrier or local customs upon delivery: Holdon Paris does not collect them and cannot advance them on your behalf. The package is only released once the amount is paid, and some carriers add an administrative handling fee. For shipments outside the EU, French VAT is not applied to our price.

What Are Import Tariffs by Country?

Amounts vary significantly depending on the destination. As a general guide for cabinet handles: United Kingdom VAT 20% and duties of about 0 to 4%; Switzerland VAT 8.1% and low duties; Norway VAT 25% and duties of about 0 to 5%; United States exempt under the 800 dollar de minimis threshold, then about 3 to 6%; Canada GST 5% plus provincial tax and duties; Australia GST 10%; Japan and South Korea VAT 10%; United Arab Emirates VAT 5%. These ranges are indicative: the exact amount depends on the order value, the carrier, and the regulations in effect at delivery.

What Is the Customs Code for These Handles, and What Documents Come with the Shipment?

Our cabinet handles are declared under HS code 83024100 (base metal mountings and fittings for buildings). This code appears on the customs forms automatically attached to every international package: proforma invoice and CN23 form when required. On simple request via contact Holdon Paris, we can provide a proforma invoice before you order. For an official estimate of fees, check with your country's customs office or public calculators such as TARIC for the EU.

What if I Refuse to Pay the Arrival Fees?

The package is generally returned to the sender. Return costs, any customs storage fees, and the original shipping remain your responsibility in that case. We recommend checking your country's customs rules before finalizing your order. If you're unsure, write to us: we can send you a proforma invoice to help anticipate the calculation.

Are Your Payment Methods Secure? What Payment Options Do You Offer?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via Stripe, as well as PayPal. Transactions run through these two international references in online payment: Holdon Paris never sees and never stores your card number, all sensitive data is transmitted encrypted to the platform. The site runs entirely on HTTPS. For large professional orders, bank transfer with a deposit is possible (see architects and professionals).

Can I Pay in Installments and Get an Invoice?

A 3-installment payment option is offered at checkout via Stripe above a certain order threshold, subject to bank eligibility: the option appears automatically if your order qualifies. Every order also generates a PDF invoice sent by email at confirmation, showing your order number, the full price breakdown, and French VAT where applicable. For professionals, an invoice with an intra-EU VAT number and company details is issued on request when you open a pro account. Other payment terms are available for professionals (see architects and professionals).

How Long Is My Handles' Warranty?

Your handles come with the 2-year legal warranty of conformity required by French and European law, starting from receipt. It covers any manufacturing defect: patina lifting, structural flaws, defective screws, or a finish that doesn't match your order. To make a claim, contact us via contact Holdon Paris with your order number and a description of the issue, a photo if possible: we make a replacement piece at our expense. The warranty does not cover normal wear, external impact, or damage from improper use (see the caring for your handles page).

Can I Return My Order if I Don't Like It?

Yes. French law gives you 14 days from receipt to exercise your right of withdrawal, with no need to justify it. The handles must be returned in their original condition, uninstalled, and return shipping is at your expense unless the error is ours: the refund is issued within 14 days of receipt at our workshop. To start a return, write to us via contact Holdon Paris: we'll send you the address and the process. Custom and personalized pieces are not eligible for the right of withdrawal, since they are made specifically for you.

Furniture Handles Damaged, Lost, or Incomplete: What to Do?

If a piece arrives damaged, photograph the packaging before opening it, then the handles, and contact us within 7 days via contact Holdon Paris: we'll open a claim with the carrier and send replacement pieces. If tracking shows no movement for more than 5 business days, let us know: all our shipments are insured against loss and theft. If a piece is missing, first check the packing material, where small parts can get lodged, then report it within 7 days with your order number: we'll make and ship the missing piece at our expense. The same applies if a finish doesn't match your order.

What if a Handle Breaks After Installation?

Under the 2-year warranty, a manufacturing or structural defect is covered at no cost: send us a photo and some context, and we'll remake the piece. For breakage from accidental impact or improper use, outside the warranty, we can remake an identical piece at preferential terms. We archive all our 3D models: even years after your order, we can reproduce your handle exactly.
