All our silhouettes
The silhouette is the geometry of the handle: square, round, elongated, sculptural. It’s the first choice before finish and pattern, and it sets the rhythm of the front.
Understand
One geometry, multiple interpretations
Silhouette is the handle’s visual signature. A single shape, square or round, can appear across several collections, each bringing its own vocabulary of patterns and finishes. They are so many different ways of telling the same geometric story.
Start by choosing the silhouette that speaks to your furniture, then explore the collection that gives it character.
Anatomy
What makes a silhouette
A silhouette is rarely just “round” or “square.” It’s defined by a precise combination of visual parameters, each shaping the handle’s presence on your furniture, the play of shadow, the feel beneath the hand.
The volume
The perceived thickness, the amount of material. A generous volume signals quality, the hand feels the mass immediately. A slim volume lightens the front and nearly disappears.
The curve
Sharp edges, fillets (rounded transitions), or perfect circles. The curvature shapes the touch as much as the visual effect: a sharp edge is more graphic, a curve is more sensual.
The relief
The depth of the design relative to the front surface. Flat (Essential), in low relief (Ornamental), in high relief (Sculptural), the relief determines the depth of shadow and sculptural presence.
The proportions
The ratio of height, width, and depth. An elongated silhouette structures the space horizontally, a square silhouette sets an anchor point, a round silhouette softens the line. It’s all in the proportions.

The atelier · Holdon Paris
How is our catalog built?
At Holdon, every handle is designed as a piece of jewelry for furniture, born in our Paris atelier from a dialogue between three voices.
The material
The shape
A true shape, chosen the way one chooses a goldsmith’s line, taking form in a precise silhouette.
The collections
Each silhouette belongs to a collection
A collection brings together several silhouettes that share a common vocabulary: the same inspirations, the same finishes, the same spirit of pattern.
Choosing a collection means choosing a world.
Choose with confidence
How do you choose your silhouette?
Three ways to find your way: the shape that speaks to your furniture, the character you’re after, the collection that ties it all together.
The shape
Square, round, elongated, sculptural. Choose by contrast or by harmony with the rest of your furniture: a round silhouette softens, a square one structures.
The character
Sober, ornamental, theatrical. The silhouette sets the base geometry; the pattern you add to it determines its expressive intensity.
The collection
Each silhouette belongs to a collection. The collection defines the available finishes and the range of patterns offered.

Silhouette, shape, and pattern
What's the Difference Between a Shape, a Silhouette, and a Pattern?
These three words describe three levels. Shape is the broad category: square, round, rectangle, oval, polygon, cylinder, figurative. Silhouette is a precise variation within a shape, with its own proportions and character, for example the Palazzo Square within the square shape. Pattern, in turn, sits on top of the silhouette without changing its geometry: nothing (Essential), an ornamental design, or a sculptural relief figure. A single silhouette can therefore host several patterns.

Finishes and Collection
Can We Order a Finish from Another Collection for a Given Silhouette?
No. The finish palette is defined collection by collection: it's part of the visual signature, just like the silhouettes and patterns. The silhouette defines the handle's geometry, but it's the collection that sets the vocabulary of finishes available. If a particular finish catches your eye, start by checking which collection it belongs to: that's likely where you'll find the handle you need.
Delivery, Customs, Payment, and Support
How Long Will It Take to Receive My Handles?
Each handle is made to order in our Paris atelier. Allow an average of 5 to 10 business days for production, plus the carrier's delivery time, which varies by address. You'll receive an email with the tracking number as soon as the shipping label is issued, generally between the 5th and 10th business day after your order.
Are Your Payment Methods Secure? What Payment Options Do You Offer?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via Stripe, as well as PayPal. Transactions run through these two international references in online payment: Holdon Paris never sees and never stores your card number, all sensitive data is transmitted encrypted to the platform. The site runs entirely on HTTPS. For large professional orders, bank transfer with a deposit is possible (see architects and professionals).
Can I Return My Order if I Don't Like It?
Yes. French law gives you 14 days from receipt to exercise your right of withdrawal, with no need to justify it. The handles must be returned in their original condition, uninstalled, and return shipping is at your expense unless the error is ours: the refund is issued within 14 days of receipt at our workshop. To start a return, write to us via contact Holdon Paris: we'll send you the address and the process. Custom and personalized pieces are not eligible for the right of withdrawal, since they are made specifically for you.
