A cabinet handle is tiny at the scale of a room. Yet it is the object the hand touches ten times a day. Holdon Paris takes that detail seriously: the material, the design, the making.
The origin
An answer to a forgotten detail
For a long time, choosing a cabinet handle came down to a compromise. On one side, the mass market: chrome plated plastic, mediocre finishes, inert shapes sold by the yard, the same knob on the neighbor’s kitchen and the grandfather’s dresser. On the other, luxury hardware: solid bronze, chiseled detail, prices that give you pause, and catalogs that stop at the 19th century.
Between the two, almost nothing. No object combined the material of the great houses, the precision of contemporary design, and a price that didn’t force a trade off.
Holdon was born from that observation. A brand to give back its place to a forgotten detail, the one the hand touches ten times a day, that the eye passes over without seeing, and that ends up saying something about the care one brings to their home.
A handle is not an accessory. It is a signature.

What Makes Holdon
Four commitments
The Holdon promise rests on four commitments that reinforce one another: the Paris atelier makes made to order production possible, cold casting gives the material its depth, and the ornamental heritage gives meaning to the design.

Made in Paris
The Holdon atelier is based in Paris. Every piece is designed and made on site: no subcontracting, no shipping container, no dormant stock. Allow 5 to 10 business days of production before shipping.

Real Metal Material
Bronze, copper, brass, aluminum: neither plated nor anodized. The material is made of real metal powder, cold cast in a mold, then hand sanded and patinated. The surface has the warmth and depth of metal, for a fraction of the weight and price of a foundry piece.

European ornamental heritage
Holdon’s visual vocabulary draws on five centuries of European ornament: acanthus scrollwork, rosettes, lions, shells, torsos inspired by Renaissance statuary. Not as pastiche: redrawn with today’s graphic rigor.

Made to order
No handle is produced in advance. Each order triggers its own production: the silhouette, the pattern, the finish, and the size you chose. No stock, so no unsold pieces and no waste.
The Atelier
The gesture, the material
Holdon makes everything in house, in its Paris atelier. Each shape is first designed, then 3D printed with great precision: this original model is used to take a mold. For bronze, copper, brass, and aluminum, we then cold cast the material into this mold, piece by piece, before unmolding, sanding, and hand patinating it.
The result has the warmth and shine of metal, without the weight of a foundry piece. Depending on the finish, the patina either evolves gently over time or stays stable.
Our bright colors come from a different material, a plant based bioresin, shaped directly at the atelier. Every piece, metal or resin, is checked by eye before it ships.
The vocabulary
A library of styles
Each Holdon collection explores a register, a century, a movement, an aesthetic geography. The idea is never to exhaust a style, but to isolate what can cross time and enter a home today.
The work comes down to four gestures: reading the origin, choosing what endures, redrawing it at a contemporary scale, and leaving the customer free to compose their own piece of furniture.
