The origin
An answer to a forgotten detail
For a long time, choosing a cabinet handle came down to a compromise. On one side, the mass market: chrome plated plastic, mediocre finishes, inert shapes sold by the yard, the same knob on the neighbor’s kitchen and the grandfather’s dresser. On the other, luxury hardware: solid bronze, chiseled detail, prices that give you pause, and catalogs that stop at the 19th century.
Between the two, almost nothing. No object combined the material of the great houses, the precision of contemporary design, and a price that doesn’t force a trade-off.
Holdon was born from that observation. A brand meant to restore a forgotten detail to its rightful place: the one the hand touches ten times a day, the one the eye passes over without seeing, and yet one that ends up saying something about the care given to a home.
A handle is not an accessory. It’s a signature.

What Makes Holdon
Four commitments
The promise of Holdon rests on four points that reinforce one another: local craftsmanship makes made-to-order possible, metaloxy gives depth to the material, and ornamental heritage gives meaning to the design.

Made in Paris
The atelier is set up in Paris. Each piece is designed, cast, finished, and patinated on site: no outsourcing, no shipping containers, no dormant stock. From order to shipment, the whole process takes 5 to 10 business days.

Real Metal Material
Cast, cold-poured, hand-finished: bronze, copper, brass, aluminum, never plated or anodized. The material is real metal powder bound at high density, then hand-finished by polishing and patina. The surface carries the warmth, depth, and grain of solid metal, at a fraction of its weight and price.

European ornamental heritage
The atelier’s visual vocabulary draws on five centuries of ornament: Renaissance acanthus scrollwork, Baroque mascarons, Empire friezes, Art Nouveau curves. Not as pastiche: redrawn with today’s graphic rigor.

Made to order
No stock is produced in advance. Each order triggers its own making, silhouette, pattern, finish, and size assembled at the atelier. Zero stock means zero unsold pieces, zero waste.
The Atelier
The gesture, the material
Holdon manufactures in house. The Paris atelier combines high precision 3D printing for the form with the metaloxy process for the material, a layer of bronze, copper, brass or aluminum powder fused onto the printed piece, finished by hand through polishing, patina, controlled oxidation.
The result carries the warmth of real metal without the weight of solid casting. A Holdon handle in bronze weighs three times less than an old cast handle, but looks and ages the same.
Everything is tested before shipping, screwed in place, holds the grip, sounds right.
The vocabulary
A library of styles
Each Holdon collection explores a register, a century, a movement, an aesthetic geography. The idea is never to exhaust a style, but to isolate what can carry through time and enter a home today.
The work rests on four gestures: reading the origin, choosing what endures, redrawing it for a contemporary scale, and leaving the client free to compose their piece.

First reading
Understanding, feeling and meaning of the pattern before touching it. A scrollwork, a frieze, a geometry are never arbitrary: they carry a history that must be heard before it is used.
Choose
Editorial filter
Only keep what can belong in furniture made for today. Not every pattern deserves to survive, some belong to their era and stay there. The sorting happens at first read, before the pencil.
Redesign
Sculpting the Design
Adapting proportions, line, and profile to the demands of use and manufacturing. A handle is held, bears traction, meets the light, it is never a simple scaling down of the original pattern.
