About this finish

Antique Copper finish - Holdon Paris

Copper, and how it changes over time

Copper, as it becomes when you trust it.

Antique Copper shares the same philosophy as Antique Bronze: a hand-applied chemical patina that sinks into the relief and lifts the raised surfaces. But with copper’s glowing warmth, the result feels more alive, more organic. The brown-orange tones seem to carry a memory, a gentle wear that gives every piece its own character.

What’s it work on

In Harmony with Your Cabinet Front

The advice from our interior designers

The copper is warm on its own, so I’ll keep the sentence rhythm intact while landing on natural US phrasing.

Antique copper warms everything it touches

It sits especially well against warm woods: golden oak, teak, natural beech. Matched tone on tone with a terracotta or rust front, it reads as something very organic and cohesive. It also pairs beautifully with sage green or off white, for a more Mediterranean feel. On cool grays or very stripped back lacquers, it can feel slightly out of place.

Your questions about the finish Antique Copper

Product and Material

Material and finish

What Is the Difference Between Material and Finish for a Handle?

Material is the substance the handle is made of: bronze, copper, brass, aluminum, or bioresin. Finish is the surface treatment that follows from it: it gives the texture (matte, satin, brushed, polished) and the tone (patina, colored lacquer, pigmentation). A single material can give rise to several finishes, each with its own light and its own feel. So you first choose a material for its qualities, then a finish for its visual character.

Does the Same Finish Exist in Every Material?

No, each finish is designed for one specific material. An antique patina, for example, can only exist on bronze or copper, never on bioresin. Finish and material go hand in hand: the process that produces the surface depends directly on the substance being worked. To see all the finishes available for a given material, open that material's page.

Choosing your finish: matte, satin, glossy

Mat, Satiny, or Glossy: How Do You Choose a Handle Finish?

Matte fades into the front, satin works with everything, gloss makes a statement and catches the light. If you're unsure, satin is the safe bet that works almost everywhere, and it's also the most forgiving in daily use: it shows fingerprints and marks the least. Matte suits understated interiors looking for discretion, gloss suits rooms where the handle should become a focal point. Look at the rest of the room: the glossier the surrounding surfaces, the more interesting a matte finish becomes by contrast.

Availability of the finish based on the silhouette

Is a finish available on all silhouettes?

Not always. Some finishes are designed for specific silhouettes, since grain and patina don't read the same way on a smooth surface as on a pronounced relief. To see what's actually available, look at the list of handles above: these are the models genuinely offered in this finish. You can also open the filter to narrow by silhouette or pattern and keep only the available combinations.

Maintenance

Tenue and aging of the finish

How do our finishes age over time?

It all depends on the type of finish, and each one evolves in its own way. Patinas are alive: they keep shifting after installation, deepening in the recesses and burnishing at contact points, which is exactly their appeal. Colored lacquers and pigmented resin stay stable and keep their shade. Brushed and satin finishes polish very slightly at the most handled spots, without changing color. If you prefer a surface that stays put, choose a matte, a satin, or a lacquer rather than a patina.

Delivery, Customs, Payment, and Support

How Long Will It Take to Receive My Handles?

Each handle is made to order in our Paris atelier. Allow an average of 5 to 10 business days for production, plus the carrier's delivery time, which varies by address. You'll receive an email with the tracking number as soon as the shipping label is issued, generally between the 5th and 10th business day after your order.

Are Your Payment Methods Secure? What Payment Options Do You Offer?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via Stripe, as well as PayPal. Transactions run through these two international references in online payment: Holdon Paris never sees and never stores your card number, all sensitive data is transmitted encrypted to the platform. The site runs entirely on HTTPS. For large professional orders, bank transfer with a deposit is possible (see architects and professionals).

Can I Return My Order if I Don't Like It?

Yes. French law gives you 14 days from receipt to exercise your right of withdrawal, with no need to justify it. The handles must be returned in their original condition, uninstalled, and return shipping is at your expense unless the error is ours: the refund is issued within 14 days of receipt at our workshop. To start a return, write to us via contact Holdon Paris: we'll send you the address and the process. Custom and personalized pieces are not eligible for the right of withdrawal, since they are made specifically for you.
