Our L size is the largest option available in a knob, and the most generous dimension in the collection for pulls outside of the XL. It’s a choice of statement: you don’t put an L handle in place by accident, you choose it because you want it to be seen, to carry weight, to matter in the composition.

As a knob
In knobs, the L is substantial. At this scale, the pattern becomes a true decorative subject: the lion takes on a sculptural presence, the scrollwork unfurls as ornamentation in its own right, the escutcheon converses with the front that carries it. This is the format for the imposing armoire door, the large bedroom dresser, the formal buffet, the bookcase, the pantry door, or the deep drawer of a substantial console. On a wide, tall front, a small knob gets lost; the L knob, by contrast, organizes the eye and gives the piece of furniture authority.
In pull knobs
In pulls, the L size comes standard at 160 mm center-to-center (c/c). This is the spacing for generous drawer pulls, suited to large kitchen drawers (pot and pan drawers, deep under-sink drawers), low bookcase cabinets, closet doors, and large wardrobes. On request, the L is also available at 128 mm or 96 mm center-to-center, letting you keep the piece’s commanding presence with tighter drilling, particularly useful when fitting existing furniture.

How to install it
The L knob attaches with a single central mounting point, like the other knobs in the collection, but with a screw and drill hole sized to the piece’s mass. The L pull requires two holes spaced 160 mm, 128 mm, or 96 mm apart, depending on the version ordered. At this scale, screw placement is critical: we recommend marking the position in pencil before drilling, and checking it by eye against the front.

Nearly all finishes, yes. As for patterns, the more detailed ones (lions, fine scrollwork) gain clarity at size M and above: on a very small size, an intricate design reads less clearly. The exact combinations of size, pattern, and material appear at the moment of choice, on the product page. When in doubt about a sculptural pattern, go with M or a larger size.

Can I Order a Size with a Non-standard Center-to-center?
Yes. Most of our two-point sizes can be ordered with custom drilling, around the standard values of 96, 128, and 160 mm depending on the size. Just note the center-to-center you need in the order comments. The handle's overall length stays the same, only the screw positions shift to line up with your existing holes. It's the solution for replacing an old handle without redrilling your front.
