Classica Europa collection - Holdon Paris

Five Centuries of European Ornament

From the Florentine Renaissance to neoclassical salons, Europe has never stopped adorning.

Classica Europa draws on the decorative vocabulary of Europe’s great ornamental periods, from the Florentine Renaissance to Enlightenment neoclassicism, by way of Roman baroque and French rococo. Five centuries during which craftsmen, architects, and decorators developed a shared language: bold symmetries, generous curves, botanical motifs, mythological figures, and refined geometries.
These are the references Classica Europa reinterprets today. Not as a period copy, but as a natural continuation: pieces that carry the memory of this craftsmanship while settling naturally into contemporary interiors. Each pattern in the collection is rooted in a precise tradition, each silhouette designed to speak to today’s furniture.
For interiors that know the details are everything, and that some things don’t need reinventing to stay relevant.

History

An Origin Story, a Legacy

Classica Europa draws on a long history, from the great houses of the Italian Renaissance to the French salons of the 18th century, taking in the palaces of Vienna and the mansions of Paris under the First Empire. Five centuries of architectural ornament, where fine furniture has always carried a shared vocabulary: acanthus scrollwork, mascarons, animal motifs, geometric friezes.

The collection gathers this language and redraws it for contemporary furniture. Not a copy, not a pastiche: a reinterpretation that keeps the historical rigor while embracing modern fronts, flat-front kitchens, minimalist dressers. The handle becomes a precious detail, like a piece of jewelry set on furniture that didn’t necessarily call for one.

The name is deliberate: Classica (the reference) and Europa (the cultural scope). Florence, Versailles, Vienna, Paris: four cities, four eras, one shared taste for the detail done right.

The silhouettes

The collection’s silhouettes

Each silhouette is a precise variation within the collection, in proportion, curve, presence. All accept the patterns and finishes shown below.

Patterns

The ornamental vocabulary

Two registers to dress the silhouette: Ornemental to punctuate the front, Sculptural to sign the piece. Both combine with any silhouette in the collection.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about the collection Classica Europa

Find your handles

What is a Holdon collection

What's a Collection at Holdon?

The Classica Europa collection brings together several silhouettes, patterns, and finishes that share one visual vocabulary: the same stylistic spirit, the same ornamental register, the same available finishes. It's the main editorial unit of the Holdon catalog, the one that ensures a set of handles works together without a false note. You start by choosing a collection whose language speaks to you, then compose within it using the silhouettes, patterns, and sizes it offers.

Composing within a collection

Do All Silhouettes Accept Every Pattern in the Collection?

Yes. Within a single collection, every silhouette accommodates the full range of patterns on offer. That's exactly what lets you give rhythm to an entire piece of furniture without breaking the coherence: an Essential on the everyday drawers, an ornamental or sculptural pattern on the center door, all while staying within the same language. You vary the patterns, the collection holds the unity.

Mixing collections

Can These Handles Be Mixed with Pieces from Other Collections on the Same One?

Technically, nothing stops you, but it's not what we'd recommend. Each collection has its own language, and mixing several collections on the same piece of furniture can create visual cacophony. It's better to stay within one collection and play with variations internally: pattern, finish, size, silhouette. That way you keep the coherence while still giving the front some rhythm.

Product and Material

Finishes and Collection

Can We Order a Finish from Another Collection for a Given Silhouette?

No. The finish palette is defined collection by collection: it's part of the visual signature, just like the silhouettes and patterns. The silhouette defines the handle's geometry, but it's the collection that sets the vocabulary of finishes available. If a particular finish catches your eye, start by checking which collection it belongs to: that's likely where you'll find the handle you need.

Delivery, Customs, Payment, and Support

How Long Will It Take to Receive My Handles?

Each handle is made to order in our Paris atelier. Allow an average of 5 to 10 business days for production, plus the carrier's delivery time, which varies by address. You'll receive an email with the tracking number as soon as the shipping label is issued, generally between the 5th and 10th business day after your order.

Are Your Payment Methods Secure? What Payment Options Do You Offer?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via Stripe, as well as PayPal. Transactions run through these two international references in online payment: Holdon Paris never sees and never stores your card number, all sensitive data is transmitted encrypted to the platform. The site runs entirely on HTTPS. For large professional orders, bank transfer with a deposit is possible (see architects and professionals).

Can I Return My Order if I Don't Like It?

Yes. French law gives you 14 days from receipt to exercise your right of withdrawal, with no need to justify it. The handles must be returned in their original condition, uninstalled, and return shipping is at your expense unless the error is ours: the refund is issued within 14 days of receipt at our workshop. To start a return, write to us via contact Holdon Paris: we'll send you the address and the process. Custom and personalized pieces are not eligible for the right of withdrawal, since they are made specifically for you.
